A 10-year-old boy is in custody after confessing to fatally shooting former Louisiana mayor Joe Cornelius Sr., 82, and his daughter Keisha Miles, 31, in Minden, Louisiana. The tragic incident occurred Sunday morning when officers found Cornelius and Miles dead with multiple gunshot wounds. The boy, a relative of Cornelius, initially provided a different account but confessed by the afternoon. Minden Police Chief Jared McIver stated that the boy is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, although a motive remains unclear. Two handguns were used, and their magazines were emptied at the scene, according to McIver. A 6-year-old child present during the shooting was unharmed.
