Alina Habba blasts Trump hush money case as ‘a joke’ after delay decision
SUMMARY
Alina Habba, attorney for former President Donald Trump, blasted the New York hush money case as “a joke” after Judge Juan Merchan delayed Trump’s sentencing until after the 2024 election. Appearing on Fox News with Sean Hannity, Habba called the case "flawed" and said it should be dismissed outright. “There’s so much wrong with this case. It should be completely admonished. The judge should be admonished, in my opinion, for not … recusing, number one, for not dismissing and for continuing to waste taxpayer dollars,” Habba said. She added, “This is a joke and an atrocity that the American people and the city of New York is seeing. That’s why they’ve got crime and that’s why people are fleeing.” Though she acknowledged the delay, Habba said it wasn’t enough. “Hitting the can down the road, I appreciate, but quite honestly, Sean, this should be vacated in its entirety.”
