At least 2 swimmers bitten by shark off Texas' South Padre Island, officials say
SUMMARY
The Fourth of July turned into a nightmare for beachgoers at South Padre Island, Texas, as a shark bit at least two swimmers. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department reported that two people were bitten, and another two had minor encounters with the shark. Two victims were taken to Valley Regional Medical Center, one later airlifted to another hospital. Their conditions remain unconfirmed. South Padre Island Fire Chief Jim Pigg stated three victims were hospitalized and a fourth treated on-site. The shark was located and pushed to deeper waters.
