Border Patrol: More Than 13K Illegals with Criminal Convictions Arrested So Far in 2024
SUMMARY
United States Border Patrol (USBP) agents have arrested over 13,700 illegal aliens with criminal convictions in 2024, including more than 360 with gang affiliations, according to a statement by USBP Chief Jason Owens. Owens stressed the importance of identifying and prosecuting these individuals to ensure public safety. Despite this, reports indicate that officials in President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have maintained empty detention spaces, leading to the release of criminal aliens into U.S. communities. Recent cases have shown the consequences of policy shifts under President Joe Biden, where some aliens released into the U.S. interior have gone on to commit serious crimes, such as the rape of a teenage girl in Alabama by Grevi Geovani Rivera Zavala.
