CIA: We foiled Taylor Swift terror attack
SUMMARY
The CIA disclosed that a terror plot targeting Taylor Swift's concerts in Vienna was thwarted earlier this month. CIA Deputy Director David Cohen revealed at the Intelligence and National Security Summit that the attack aimed to "kill a huge number of people, tens of thousands at this concert, including, I’m sure, many Americans." The threat led to the cancellation of Swift’s August 8-10 shows. Austrian authorities, allegedly acting on CIA intelligence, arrested two men on August 7th—one in Ternitz and another in Vienna—and a third suspect, an 18-year-old Iraqi, on August 8th. "The Austrians were able to make those arrests because the agency and our partners in the intelligence community provided them information," Cohen said. The suspects were inspired by ISIS and had been preparing for a mass attack.
