Europeans skeptical Ukraine will win war, polling shows
SUMMARY
A survey by the European Council on Foreign Relations reveals significant skepticism among Europeans regarding Ukraine's chances of winning its war with Russia. Conducted in May across 14 EU countries and Ukraine, the study shows that a substantial portion of Europeans believe the conflict will likely end in a negotiated settlement. In some countries, like Greece, up to 31% foresee a potential Russian victory. Conversely, the majority of Ukrainians (58%) express confidence in their military's ability to prevail, underscoring a stark contrast in perceptions between Ukrainians and Europeans on the eventual outcome of the war.
