FBI special agent charged with sexually assaulting 2 women
SUMMARY
FBI Special Agent Eduardo Valdivia, 40, has been arrested in Montgomery County, Maryland, and faces 10 charges, including two counts of second-degree rape. The alleged assaults occurred in May and September of 2024, according to court records. Valdivia is being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility and is scheduled for a bond hearing on Tuesday. The FBI’s Washington Field Office confirmed Valdivia’s suspension and stated, "The FBI takes allegations of criminal violations and misconduct very seriously." The bureau is fully cooperating with the Montgomery County Police Department investigation. This is not Valdivia's first legal controversy. In 2020, he was charged with attempted murder following an off-duty shooting on a Metro train. Security footage captured the incident, but a jury acquitted him in 2022.
