Hackers breach social media accounts of Lara and Tiffany Trump
SUMMARY
Hackers managed to breach the social media accounts of Lara and Tiffany Trump, spreading fake posts about a Trump family cryptocurrency venture. The posts, which appeared on X (formerly known as Twitter), falsely promoted a project called World Liberty Financial, a Trump family cryptocurrency initiative that has yet to officially launch. Eric Trump, who swiftly denounced the posts as a scam on X, confirmed that the accounts of his wife Lara and sister Tiffany had been compromised. He praised X for acting quickly, stating that the accounts were locked down within minutes of the breach. The hack adds to a growing list of cybersecurity concerns for the Trump camp, coming on the heels of a breach in which Iranian hackers targeted internal communications within the Trump campaign, as well as the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris.
