Jury Convicts Man Who Beheaded Tech CEO Boss

SUMMARY
Tyrese Haspil, the former assistant of tech entrepreneur Fahim Saleh, was convicted of first-degree murder by a Manhattan Supreme Court jury on Monday. The jury, deliberating for just three hours, found Haspil guilty of all charges related to the 2020 slaying of Saleh, CEO of the Nigeria-based scooter startup Gokada. Prosecutors argued Haspil killed Saleh to cover up his theft of $400,000 from him. Haspil admitted to incapacitating Saleh with a Taser before fatally stabbing him in his $2.4 million East Houston Street condo. He then dismembered Saleh’s body with an electric saw. Haspil now faces a life sentence.
