Local counter-sniper team was inside building where Trump shooter climbed on the roof and opened fire: sources
SUMMARY
A local police counter-sniper team was stationed inside the AGR International Inc. factory in Butler, Pennsylvania, during the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. Thomas Crooks climbed the building's roof, which served as a “watch post” for police, and fired eight shots with an AR-style assault rifle, grazing Trump, killing a supporter, and wounding two others. Although police were inside the building, they were not on the roof. Crooks was spotted 26 minutes before the shooting, and a cop even photographed him, but it's unclear if officers warned the Secret Service. An officer attempted to check the roof but retreated when Crooks pointed his rifle at him. Secret Service snipers killed Crooks moments after he opened fire. The building, just 130 yards from Trump's stage, had been swept by police before the event. However, security lapses, including zip-tied gates, allowed Crooks to infiltrate the area undetected.
