Pakistani Migrant Cab Driver Attempts to Run Over Jewish Students in Brooklyn
SUMMARY
A man attempted to run down Orthodox Jewish students and a rabbi outside a Brooklyn yeshiva, allegedly yelling “I’m gonna kill all the Jews”. The driver, 58-year-old Asghar Ali, a Pakistani immigrant with a history of mental illness, drove onto the curb near the school in Canarsie. Video footage shows Ali targeting people outside the school twice. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating, and Ali faces multiple charges, including attempted murder and hate crimes. No injuries were reported. Ali, apprehended by the Shomrim Safety Patrol and NYPD, has prior arrests and is considered emotionally disturbed. He was taken to Coney Island Hospital.
