SpaceX launches Turkey's first domestically-built communications satellite

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched Turkey's first domestically-built communications satellite, Türksat 6A, on Monday. The satellite will handle secure military communications within Turkey and expand commercial services across India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan celebrated the milestone, highlighting that over 81% of the satellite's components were produced domestically. The launch from Cape Canaveral saw the Falcon 9’s first stage land on a SpaceX barge. Türksat 6A will increase satellite coverage to nearly five billion people. This was SpaceX's 68th Falcon 9 launch of the year and its 353rd overall.
