Suspect arrested in string of at least 9 stabbing attacks in Seattle
SUMMARY
Seattle police arrested a man linked to a series of stabbings that injured nine people over two days. The spree occurred within a 38-hour period, with five people stabbed Friday afternoon in the Chinatown-International District. Deputy Chief Eric Barden noted the randomness of the attacks, all of which were reportedly committed by the same suspect. The violence began Thursday when a 52-year-old woman was found with multiple stab wounds, followed by other attacks, including one involving a neck injury and another during a cellphone robbery attempt. A witness description led officers to arrest the suspect nearby, and police recovered a weapon at the scene. Four victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center, with two in critical condition. Although police suspect the same person in the stabbings, the investigation remains ongoing. A tenth incident on Thursday night may or may not be related.
