Trump says he and Obama 'probably do' like each other
SUMMARY
Former President Donald Trump remarked Thursday that he and former President Barack Obama "probably do" like each other, following a viral video of the two chatting during Jimmy Carter’s funeral. Trump said, “I didn’t realize how friendly it looked. I said, ‘Boy, they look like two people that like each other.’ And we probably do.” He added, “We have a little different philosophies, right? But we probably do. I don’t know. We just got along. But I got along with just about everybody.” This comment comes amid years of contentious exchanges between the two. Trump has frequently criticized Obama, calling him an "ineffective" and "terrible" president, and referred to Michelle Obama as “nasty” last October. Obama, in turn, has attacked Trump, calling him a "78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped whining." However, Trump has also previously praised Obama, calling him "a nice gentleman" in August. An adviser to Obama did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
