Vance calls on Democrats to tamp down rhetoric: ‘No one has tried to kill Kamala Harris’

At a Faith and Freedom Coalition dinner, Sen. J.D. Vance called on Democrats to reduce inflammatory political rhetoric following a second assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Vance, Trump’s running mate, recalled Trump remaining unfazed after Secret Service agents thwarted the recent attempt at his golf course. Vance criticized the rhetoric from Democrats, particularly Kamala Harris, who has called Trump a threat to democracy. He stated, “The big difference between conservatives and liberals is that no one has tried to kill Kamala Harris in the last couple of months, and two people now have tried to kill Donald Trump in the last couple of months. I’d say that’s pretty strong evidence that the Left needs to tone down the rhetoric and needs to cut this crap out.” Trump later blamed the “Communist Left Rhetoric” for escalating tensions. Ryan Wesley Routh, the man arrested in connection with the incident, is facing gun charges.
