SUMMARY
Walt Ehmer, the president and CEO of Waffle House, has died at age 58 after a prolonged illness. The Atlanta Police Foundation, where Ehmer was a board member, confirmed his death on Sunday. Ehmer joined Waffle House in 1992, becoming president in 2002 and later assuming the roles of CEO and chairman. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens honored him, stating, "His leadership, dedication, and warmth touched the lives of many." The Waffle House board expressed sorrow, noting, "He will be greatly missed by his entire Waffle House family." Ehmer was also involved with the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and other organizations. He is survived by three children. The Waffle House chain, founded in 1955, now has over 1,900 locations in 25 states.
