2 men killed, 1 woman critical in random NYC stabbing spree by knife-wielding maniac

The spree began around 8:20 a.m. on West 19th Street near Eighth Avenue, where the attacker fatally stabbed a 30-year-old construction worker in the stomach. Two hours later, he struck again on East 30th Street near the FDR Drive, stabbing a man in his 60s multiple times. Both victims died at Bellevue Hospital. Shortly before 11 a.m., the assailant stabbed a woman in her 40s in the chest near East 42nd Street and First Avenue. She remains in critical condition at Weill Cornell Medical Center. Authorities apprehended the suspect, reportedly a resident of the Bellevue Men’s Shelter, near East 46th Street. Police described the attacks as unprovoked, with charges pending against the suspect.
