Harris honeymoon is over: Sun Belt polls put Trump on path to presidency
SUMMARY
New polling from key battleground states shows Donald Trump surging ahead of Kamala Harris, signaling the end of her early momentum. According to a New York Times/Siena College poll conducted from Sept. 1 to 21, Trump is now leading in Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina, all crucial states in the upcoming election. If Trump holds these states, he would be just one blue-wall state away from securing the presidency with 262 electoral votes. In Arizona, Trump flipped a 5-point deficit from August into a 5-point lead, commanding strong support from older voters and white non-college-educated individuals. He also has a solid base in western Arizona, where he holds 74% of the vote. In Georgia, Trump maintains a 4-point lead, with 70% of white voters backing him, including 78% of white voters without college degrees. Meanwhile, in North Carolina, Trump turned a previous 2-point Harris lead into a 49% to 47% advantage, driven by strong support from white voters and rural regions.
