Amidst the ongoing border crisis during the Biden administration, not only are illegal border crossings on the rise, but so too are violent altercations involving U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents.
News Nation recently examined the CBP data surrounding the escalating dangers that border patrol officers face every day on the front lines, while dealing with illegal aliens.
Over the past couple of years, the numbers have surged, with this year showing no signs of abating, potentially reaching record levels seen in 2023.
- Fiscal Year 2023: 571 Agents Assaulted
- October 2023 to April 2024: 207 Agents Assaulted
The most perilous sectors along the U.S. border for assaults on officers were identified:
- El Paso: 49 Agents Assaulted
- Tucson: 32 Agents Assaulted
- San Diego: 30 Agents Assaulted
- Laredo: 23 Agents Assaulted
- Rio Grande Valley: 21 Agents Assaulted
Physical assaults constitute the majority of these incidents, followed by assaults involving rocks or projectiles, as well as vehicle-related attacks.
