Illegal immigrant charged with rape, murder of Maryland mother of 5 after crossing border

Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, a 23-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador who crossed the U.S. border illegally in February 2023, has been arrested for the murder and rape of Rachel Morin, a mother of five found dead on a Maryland hiking trail last August. Sheriff Jeffery Gahler revealed that Martinez-Hernandez had fled to the U.S. after killing a woman in El Salvador and had committed other violent crimes, according to Sheriff Gahler; "Once in our country, he brutally attacked a nine-year-old girl and her mother in a home invasion in March of 2023 in Los Angeles," Authorities identified him through DNA and video evidence.
