Newsom's alleged deep ties to communists in China exposed in new book

SUMMARY
A new book, Fool’s Gold: The Radicals, Con Artists, and Traitors Who Killed the California Dream and Now Threaten Us All, claims California Gov. Gavin Newsom played a key role in opening the state’s doors to CCP-linked businesses through a nonprofit initiative called ChinaSF. Authors Jedd McFatter and Susan Crabtree allege that ChinaSF, launched during Newsom’s tenure as San Francisco mayor, helped Chinese companies—some with ties to corruption and the Chinese military—establish themselves in the U.S. The book states that the program brought in $5.5 billion in economic impact and recruited 108 Chinese firms but lacked proper vetting. One company highlighted is Suntech, a CCP-backed solar firm personally recruited by Newsom. Another, JOINN Laboratories, has alleged ties to China’s military. The book also points to Huawei’s 2016 financial sponsorship of ChinaSF, despite U.S. government concerns over its national security risks.
