Oakland family devastated after mother of 8 killed confronting suspected drug dealers

Maria Ramos, a 33-year-old mother of eight, was fatally shot in Oakland while confronting suspected drug dealers outside her home. Ramos and her mother, Blanca Velasco, had approached a blue Toyota they believed was delivering marijuana vapes to teens in their neighborhood. The situation escalated when Ramos exited their car and was shot by one of the suspects. Velasco tried to protect her daughter by using her car as a shield, but the attackers pursued her. After returning to the scene, Velasco found Ramos unresponsive, and despite police efforts, she died.
