Vicious Tren de Aragua ‘ringleader’ busted in NYC immigration raids on kidnapping warrant from Aurora, Colorado
SUMMARY
Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, a 25-year-old ringleader of the violent Tren de Aragua gang, was arrested on a kidnapping warrant during a dramatic pre-dawn raid in the Bronx, New York City, on January 28, 2025. The raid was part of a broader immigration operation under the Trump administration’s crackdown on crime. Pacheco, wanted for multiple charges including kidnapping, burglary, and menacing, had been involved in a violent break-in in Aurora, Colorado, caught on surveillance video. In the video, gang members were seen forcing their way into an apartment in Aurora, marking the area as a hotspot for Tren de Aragua activity. The arrest was carried out by Homeland Security Investigations, DEA, and ICE officers. Neighbors at the Ogden Avenue apartment building where Pacheco was apprehended recalled seeing officers forcibly enter the apartment. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who participated in the raids, shared footage and images of the operation.
