CNN commentator says Biden is going to ‘leave office in disgrace’
SUMMARY
During CNN’s State of the Union, commentator Scott Jennings sharply criticized President Joe Biden’s legacy, asserting he will leave office “in disgrace.” Jennings stated, “The Hunter Biden pardon was disgraceful. He’s going to be remembered largely for inflation and for the disastrous Afghanistan pullout.” He also accused Biden’s staff of covering up his cognitive decline throughout his presidency, adding, “It’s going to be a really ugly chapter… a diminished presidency because of it.” Conversely, contributor Karen Finney argued Biden’s impact would be felt for years despite concerns about his health. “While there were concerns about Biden’s health and fitness for office that emerged earlier this year, he largely was a good president,” Finney said. Biden’s controversial final acts, including pardoning his son Hunter and commuting the sentences of 37 federal death row inmates, have fueled further debate as the transition to President-elect Donald Trump nears.
