College spring breaker charged in firebombing of Tesla Cybertrucks at dealership

SUMMARY
On April 18th, 19-year-old Owen McIntire, a UMass Boston student from Parkville, was arrested in Boston for firebombing a Kansas City, Missouri, Tesla dealership on March 17. Charged with unlawful possession of an unregistered destructive device and malicious damage by fire, he appeared in Massachusetts federal court. That night, a Kansas City cop saw smoke at 10111 State Line Road around 11:16 p.m., spotting a Molotov cocktail—apple cider vinegar bottle, gasoline, rag—near a blazing Cybertruck. The fire torched two Cybertrucks, priced at $105,485 and $107,485, and two $550 charging stations. Surveillance showed McIntire, wearing a large hat, lighting and chucking the device, with DNA on the discarded hat nailing him. Attorney General Pam Bondi roared, “You will not evade us…You will spend decades behind bars.” FBI Director Kash Patel, marking the week’s second Tesla arrest, said, “These actions are dangerous, they are illegal.” The FBI, ATF, and local police are digging in.
