Josh Hawley: Whistleblower Claims Secret Service Is Blocking Auditors from ‘Accessing’ Trump Events
SUMMARY
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) revealed that a Secret Service whistleblower claims officials within Secret Service headquarters are preventing auditors from accessing former President Donald Trump's campaign events. According to a letter Hawley sent to Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe, the whistleblower alleged that auditors from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) were blocked from attending certain Trump events because Trump was "not receiving the full level of protective assets." Hawley remains concerned that the Secret Service may be attempting to hide the lack of full protection for Trump. “These latest allegations suggest the Secret Service is not consistently providing Donald Trump with presidential-level protection and attempting to conceal this fact from the government’s own auditors,” Hawley stated.
