Poll: Trump Edges Harris in Swing State Early Voting
SUMMARY
A recent Harvard CAPS/Harris poll reveals that former President Donald Trump holds a narrow lead over Vice President Kamala Harris among early voters in key swing states, with 48% support compared to Harris's 47%. Approximately 5% of respondents chose a third option or were undecided. Poll co-director Mark Penn noted that Trump's strategy in battleground states is effective, giving him a 2-point lead overall in these critical regions. However, the poll also indicates that Harris performs strongly nationally, with a commanding 51% to 43% lead over Trump among early voters. Approximately 45% of voters plan to cast their ballots early, while 50% intend to wait until Election Day. The candidates are concentrating their efforts on these battleground states, which are crucial for determining the outcome of the Nov. 5 election. The survey, conducted from October 11 to 13, included 3,145 registered voters, with a margin of error of ± 1.8 percentage points.
